Sift ("we", "our", "the app") is a video knowledge library that helps you save and organize information from social media videos. We take your privacy seriously.
Device Identifier: When you first use Sift, a random anonymous ID is generated and stored on your device. This ID is used solely to associate your saved entries with your device. We do not collect your name, email, phone number, or any other personal information.
Video URLs: When you share a video link to Sift, we process that URL to extract metadata, transcripts, and summaries. The original video content is deleted immediately after processing — we only store the text-based summary and thumbnail.
Usage Data: We do not collect analytics, tracking data, or usage statistics in the current version.
Your saved video URLs are processed through third-party AI services (OpenAI) to generate transcriptions and summaries. Only the text content of the video is sent for processing — no personal information is included.
Your entries (summaries, transcripts, tags) are stored on our servers and associated with your anonymous device ID. No personally identifiable information is stored.
We use the following third-party services:
You can delete any saved entry at any time from within the app. Deleted entries are permanently removed from our servers.
Sift is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
