Sift ("we", "our", "us", "the App") is a video knowledge library that helps you save and organize information from social media videos. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use Sift.
Device Identifier: When you first use Sift, a random anonymous ID is generated and stored on your device. This ID is used solely to associate your saved entries with your device. We do not collect your name, email, phone number, or any other personal information.
Video URLs: When you share a video link to Sift, we process that URL to extract metadata, transcripts, and summaries. The original video content is deleted immediately after processing — we only store the text-based summary and thumbnail.
Usage Data: We do not collect analytics, tracking data, or usage statistics in the current version.

Your saved video URLs are processed through third-party AI services (OpenAI) to generate transcriptions and summaries. Only the text content of the video is sent for processing — no personal information is included.
Your entries (summaries, transcripts, tags) are stored on our servers and associated with your anonymous device ID. No personally identifiable information is stored. Data is retained until you delete it or request account deletion.

You can delete any saved entry at any time from within the App. Deleted entries are permanently removed from our servers. To request deletion of all data associated with your device, contact us at siftapp@proton.me.

Sift is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
